This enormous country house, located in the centre of Borne, is more than one century old and has a rich history. The stately Victorian villa of Dorset Mansion House, was built in 1895 by textile magnate Albert Karel, who lived in the house until 1922. Dorset Mansion House cost Karel 26,250 guldens, a huge amount for the time. Between 1930 and 1993 the mansion served as the town hall for the city of Borne and as a doctor house. Dorset Mansion House is currently a gourmet restaurant serving fine French cuisine. As part of Heritage Township, Dorset Mansion sits empty, waiting for you to decide it’s fate.
